Artistry.
Above All Else.

New Vision Artist Management is a music artist management and consulting firm located in Nashville, Tennessee. The company is dedicated to guiding the careers of music artists and songwriters. New Vision was founded by partners John Dorris and Mike Kraski – between the two of them, they have over 90 years of experience in all aspects of the music business. They have played roles in the successful careers of scores of artists and hundreds of millions of units in sales.

Artist Management

Many management companies only sign established acts. That is not and will never be the case at New Vision. As Mike Kraski points out, “Managing established artists is quite different from managing a new act, and we’re equally adept at either. But in many ways, it’s special to be with someone through the entire journey. It’s a lot more work, but the gratification is that much greater. Clearly, we love what we do.”

Artist Development

Whether you’re an artist aspiring for a label deal or simply to be the best artist you can be while doing it yourself, New Vision can help you. We have the skills to help you with all aspects of artist development. We will help you develop your skills as a writer and entertainer. We can put you with quality producers that fit your budget. We will help you find the songs you need. We will help you articulate your artistic vision with your image, your music and your branding statement. We can also help you by performing artist management services until you are in a position to find the manager you want.

Brand Development

Many start-up independent labels fail in part because of the cost of hiring quality personnel. Our team has great experience in all aspects of record label and music publishing operations. By hiring New Vision to oversee your company on a consulting basis, you can keep your overhead down while getting high quality oversight and direction.

Meet The Team

Over 95 years of combined experience in the music business between them. One new vision.

John Dorris

John Dorris

Co-Founder

“We take the responsibility of serving our artists very seriously”, says John Dorris. “We are a full-service management company and pride ourselves for going far beyond what is simply required. Our artists are part of our family.” ~ John Dorris

John Dorris, Sr. began his career as a tax accountant for Price Waterhouse upon earning his B.S. degree in Accounting from Tennessee Tech University. After becoming a CPA, he joined one of his Price Waterhouse clients, Lin Broadcasting Corporation, to head up the company’s in-house tax department. After several years with the media giant, he became the head of Business Affairs for one of Nashville’s most successful independent record labels and publishing houses, Monument Records and Combine Music Publishing. As the label marked record number sales with such artists as Roy Orbison, Kris Kristofferson, Larry Gatlin, Billy Joe Shaver, Billy Swan and others, Dorris developed a sincere and passionate respect for artists.

In 1983, Dorris opened Hallmark Direction Company with the legendary Don Williams as his initial client. John Michael Montgomery, Doug Stone, Montgomery Gentry, Blake Shelton, Mark Wills, Leslie Satcher, The Whites, Dean Dillon, Dusty Drake, Western Flyer, James Bonamy, HoriPro Entertainment and many others have or have had a home at Hallmark Direction Company.

He served on the Academy of Country Music’s Board of Directors for over twenty years and as Treasurer during his last ten years. He also received the Mae Boren Axton Award in 2010 for his work with the ACM Board of Directors.

He is a member of the CMA, NARAS, and the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and the Tennessee Society of CPAs.

Dorris has also served on the following boards throughout his career: Nashville Better Business Bureau, The Rochelle Training and Rehabilitation Center, and Franklin Road Academy.

Mike Kraski

Mike Kraski

Co-Founder

“When an act asks you to manage them,” adds Mike Kraski, “they are handing you their hopes and dreams and asking you to make them come true. That is a tremendous responsibility, and if you don’t feel like it is, you shouldn’t be in management.” ~ Mike Kraski

Kraski began his career in sales and distribution at CBS Records and eventually made his way to Sony Music Nashville. In his 28 years he was given the opportunity to oversee sales, marketing, artist development, publicity, creative services and was eventually elevated to executive VP and general manager for the Nashville division. In his time at Sony, he worked with Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Patty Loveless, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Montgomery Gentry and Travis Tritt among many others.

In 2003, Kraski left Sony and launched an artist friendly label that was aptly named Equity Records. As President and CEO, he launched the career of Little Big Town. Their debut Equity release sold over 1.5 million units and was Billboard Magazine’s number one Independent Album of the Year.

Since 2007, Mike has worked in artist management, consulting and music publishing at Tenacity Management and at M-Pact Music Group and recently partnered with legendary artist manager John Dorris to launch New Vision Artist Management. Mike has served for 20 years as a member of the Academy of Country Music’s board of directors. He has also served on the Nashville board of the TJ Martell Foundation and is currently on the advisory board of Sensu Music LLC.
